Symposium on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) & IUI Workshop

Venue: Royal Taj Hotel, Larkana

Australian Concept Fertility Centre (ACFC) successfully organized the “Meet the Specialists – Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) & IUI Workshop” on Saturday, 31 January 2026, at Royal Taj Hotel, Larkana. The scientific and educational event was attended by approximately 105 doctors from Larkana and surrounding areas, reflecting strong regional interest in advanced fertility care.

The program was hosted by Ms Sidra Afzal, Senior Coordinator at Australian Concept Fertility Centre, who managed the entire event from start to finish. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

The program formally commenced with a welcome address by the Country Manager, Mr M Waseem Khan. In his welcome speech, he introduced Australian Concept Fertility Centre and shared its organizational history and International affiliation. He highlighted that Concept Fertility Centre was established in Perth, Australia, in 1982 and has since maintained strong foundations in evidence-based reproductive medicine.

Mr Waseem Khan further explained that Australian Concept Fertility Centre was established in Pakistan through the joint efforts of Dr Bruce Bellinge, Dr Kiran Shahid, and Barrister Shahid Shakur. He informed participants that the first ACFC facility was formed in Karachi, followed by the expansion of services to Lahore, Multan, and Quetta. He also highlighted that the Karachi centre is located at Teen Talwar, behind Gulf Shopping Mall, and serves as a major hub for fertility services in Pakistan.

During his address, the Country Manager emphasized that Australian Concept Fertility Centre is the only IVF centre in Pakistan operating with a genuine international affiliation with Australia. He stressed that ACFC’s professional training, clinical governance, laboratory standards, and protocols are directly aligned with Australia, ensuring international-quality fertility care in Pakistan.

He further highlighted that all ACFC’s consultants are foreign-qualified with extensive experience in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). He added that ACFC’s scientific team is fully trained in ART services, with training and monitoring conducted through Perth, Western Australia. In addition, ACFC’s entire clinical and nursing staff are comprehensively trained and highly skilled in delivering ART services in accordance with international standards.

Prof. Dr Aziz Abdullah, Medical Director, Consultant Urologist & Male Fertility Specialist, ACFC, delivered a comprehensive presentation on “Male Infertility: Facts, Myths, and the Critical Role of Semen Analysis”
Prof. Dr Abdullah discussed male infertility causes, diagnostic protocols, and evidence-based treatment strategies. The session included myth-busting and practical clinical approaches, prompting active engagement with panelists.

Dr Fouzia Rasool Memon, FRCOG – Consultant Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist
delivered an extensive presentation on “Unexplained Infertility, Weight Management & Its Impact on Fertility”
Dr Memon highlighted unexplained infertility and the impact of lifestyle and weight management on fertility outcomes. She discussed patient counseling strategies and individualized treatment approaches, encouraging interactive discussions with panelists.

Prof. Dr Shahida Magsi, FCPS, Consultant Gynaecologist and Dean Chandka Medical College, delivered an informative session on “PCOS and Infertility,” emphasizing diagnosis and long-term management.

Panel Discussion

A highly interactive panel discussion followed the scientific sessions, fostering cross-questioning and knowledge exchange. Panelists posed clinical questions to the speakers regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and practical management strategies, leading to detailed discussions.

In addition, the panelists also engaged the Country Manager, Mr M Waseem Khan, with questions related to ACFC’s international affiliation, service offerings, and treatment packages. These discussions provided clarity to participants regarding ACFC’s clinical scope, standards, and patient service framework.

In the closing session, National Marketing Manager Mrs Fouzia Jamil delivered the ending remarks. She expressed her gratitude to all participating doctors and attendees.

IUI Training Workshop

The event concluded with an IUI Training Workshop conducted by Dr Fouzia Rasool Memon, providing participants with practical exposure and procedural guidance.
